Welcome to the first posting of the The Small Business Voice. My goal is to explore and expose new ideas for building better sustainability for Small Businesses.
There are more than 26 million small businesses in the United States and more than 84 million world wide. Small Business contribute more than $1.4 trillion dollars to the economy. We create the majority of the new jobs, hold almost 50% of all patents.
So why do we then pay more in taxes and insurance?
It's my hope that through this site we can together explore ways to keep more businesses healthy, be that through better sales and marketing, operations, production, finance, use of technology, or building alliance partners.

- Ms. Johnson is the CEO and founder of Techchex. For almost 20 years Johnson has worked with or for enterprise businesses such as Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Microsoft, and General Electric During her career she has focused on the small and mid-level businesses and has driven multi-million dollar programs worldwide with double digit results in record time. As an Outbound Product Marketing Manager for Intel, Johnson has spent several years traveling throughout the world studying the association between technology and small and mid size businesses. Ms. Johnson is also the author of the book, The Guide to Translation and Localization, published by IEEE, and served as facilitator for an ASTM subcommittee in Washington DC to establish worldwide translation standards. Johnson has also received 11 marketing awards from the Society of Technical Communication. Johnson currently service on the SBAC (Small Business Advisory Council) for the City of Portland Oregon and is the president of NAWBO (National Association of Woman Business Owners) for the state of Oregon and SW Washington.
